Assignment1_Emergency
Collecting the missing body parts to escape from the hospital. Blood kits are the bonus to increase the player's HP to go through the maze.
- The development process overall
The sprite sheet was the first stage of the development process. What could be the best way to trigger the player to have the intention to collect the missing items. Tearing down the human body in pieces to let the player find each part then putting them back is the goal of this game. Mint blue wall has a vibe of the hospital, and the red background giving people a thrilling feeling. The soundtrack is also an add-on for the atmosphere.
- Successes
- Sprite sheet graphic design
- Collecting sound
- Soundtrack picking
- Failures
- The soundtrack can't loop in the background
- Score counting
- Resolution for the graphic
- Lessons Learned
- Screen size is tricky then I should set up a proper screen size before start
- Figure out how to do the score counting
- Future Development
- More add-on elements to have more fun
- Add the further level to increase the game difficulty

Love this creepy setting of collecting part of body and escaping the hospital. I hope if there is a health bar or time countdown to make this game more intense. It is a little bit flat by only collecting and go through the scenes.
Nice selection of the bgm to fit the eerie feeling of the game, where the player has to collect body parts!
As you noted, some things to develop:
1. More indication showing which body parts I have left to collect and which body parts I've pieced together.
2. The blood doesn't feel like a bonus right now.
3. Any obstacles?
4. Aspect ratio looking a little off.
Good work! :)
Just played this again and I feel that the moving is so smooth. I Tried several others' work and some of the games can not control the character to the smoothies moving condition but this one feels really comfortable!
Love a good horror-themed game! I actually made a game with a similar theme a while back, it's about escaping a haunted hospital! I think your music choice and visual style is really great. However I think it'll be more interesting if you introduced an obstacle in the game so the player might die. For example, imaging if there is something following after you while you collect the body parts! The game is a little off screen in fullscreen mode, other than this, it's a really great game!
I like your level designs, sprites, and the music. I would like some sort of challenge like a way to fail the game. Also the game goes offscreen in full screen. Try a 16:9 ratio such as 1024 x 576 or 1280 x 720 in your Unity player settings. To loop the music try this:
This may help too plugin: https://seansleblanc.itch.io/better-minimal-webgl-templateI really love the music and visual of your game, it really give me goosebumps when I'm playing the game, and makes me feel nervous. The visual and the body parts in the game also creeps me out(in a good way). I do agree that having some sort of background story for your game would really draw the players into the scenario more.
OMG! This game creates an uncanny feeling from the beginning. I think you did a good job of creating that atmosphere using sounds and graphics. The theme is strange too. In what circumstance that I need to collect my own body? I really want to know how you come out with this theme. I saw in "Failures" you put "resolution of the graphics", but I think the resolution is good. Your graphics have the quality that make me see the body part clearly and at the same time don't freak me out. I kind of hope to see more stories about your game: where is this hospital? why am I collecting my body parts?
